Andrew Michael Pitts (Pitty, Pittsy, A.P.)
Entered this world on May 12, 1992 in Fridley, MN. God took this Angel home on April 26, 2013. Andrew was preceded in death by his beloved Grandpa, Donald E. Pitts.

He will be forever missed by his Dad, Alan “Bundy” Stroh, Mother, Jennifer “Mama Bear” Stroh, Brothers Jordan “J-Bird” Stroh, Tyler “Tim-bers” Stroh, his girlfriend Tiffany “Tiff” Hohmann and his precious Minnie.

Andrew is also survived by “Grandma Joyce” Pitts, “Grandma Bev” Cooper, Robert Cooper. Uncles David “Guy” Pitts, Robert “Bob’ Pitts, Ryan Stroh, Aunts Joleen Pitts, Jennifer Stroh and Dyana Stroh Schallenberger. Cousins Alexis Morris, Ashley Morris, Ariel Pitts, Samantha Pitts and Jacob Pitts, Isabella Schallenberger and Emily Stroh. His Great Grandmother Viola Adams and Great Uncle Keith Adams. He also has many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins in his extended family.

Andrew attended Fair Oaks Elementary School, Northview Junior High and Brooklyn Junior High - Brooklyn Park, MN. He attended Park Center High School and graduated in 2010.

Andrew and his brothers were very active in sports from a young age. He started playing baseball with the Brooklyn Center American Little League when he was 5 years old. It was there he found his love of the game. He met numerous boys and girls from those early years, and remained friends with them his entire life. He excelled at baseball, whether he was catching, playing shortstop or pitching. He played through his high school years at Park Center High School, and after taking a short break, returned to baseball in 2012-2013 with the Anoka Ramsey Community College Golden Rams until his death.

At age 6, Andrew began playing hockey with the Brooklyn Center Youth Hockey Association, and Brooklyn Park Youth Hockey Association. He played for the Brooklyn Park Association from Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams. Andrew met numerous coaches, teammates and friends while playing there, and had so many wonderful memories. He touched a lot of lives within his “hockey family”, and he was always grateful for his time there.

Andrew was part of a Triple A hockey team (Jr. Gophers/Twin City Federals) in which he had the honor of playing with some of the states best hockey players at the time. He remembered this team as one of his favorites, not for their successes or failures, but for the “team” or family that this team was. He remained friends with every one of those players, and considered them brothers.

Andrew played high school hockey for the North Metro Stars (made up of Park Center, Fridley, Brooklyn Center and Columbia Heights) for 3 years and was a star defenseman. His passion and love for hockey, took him beyond high school.

He was talented enough to play on the Advanced 15, 16 and 17 year old teams, and made the National Level. He traveled to New York for a week to show off his skills.

Andrew graduated from Park Center High School in June 2010 and chose to pursue his love of hockey, playing with the NAHL Coulee Region Chill. Again, he had the honor of playing with some of the best players from around the country. He formed lasting bonds with new coaches, teammates, friends and families in Holmen, WI and LaCrosse, WI. He never regretted his choice to forgo college right away, he got to “Live his Dream” and play hockey every day.

He left the Chill in January 2012 and began a “short” career with the North Iowa Bulls in Mason City, IA. Although he was only with the team a few months, his talent and experience made an impact with the Bulls, on and off the ice. During this time, he made lasting friendships with new teammates and fans. He loved his time in Mason City.

Andrew had worked at Edinburgh Golf Course during the past three summers in the ground maintenance department, where he also got a chance to pursue his golfing passion.

In the fall of 2012, Andrew decided to enroll at Anoka Ramsey Community College for the Spring semester. He wanted to give baseball another try, and was lucky enough to make the team, where he was catcher for the Golden Rams until his death.

Andrew and Tiffany were living together in Brooklyn Park, along with Andrew’s “pride and joy” Minnie, their Malti-Poo puppy. He adored Minnie and took her everywhere.

We will be celebrating Andrew’s life on May 4, 2013 at the Brooklyn Park Community Center, (Ice Rink), 5600 85th Ave. N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443 from 1 pm to 5 pm. We will have a Celebration of Andrew’s life at 2:00 pm.

We want to share stories, hugs, tears and laughs and to honor this amazing young man who touched so many of us with his infectious laugh, radiant smile, sparkling eyes and wonderful sense of humor.
